A few weeks ago, Peter Valdes-Dapena and I took a quick trip across the northernmost border to check out Mercedes-Benz‘s latest offering in their luxury S-Class line.

With a group of select journalists, we drove the car roughly 100 miles up to Muskoka Airport, where we were shown in-depth displays of how the technology inside the car worked, and got first hand experience with some of the amazing safety features.

The car is not only a beauty to look at, but it’s a technological marvel–and with it’s Distronic Plus active cruise control (which is mind-blowing in itself) and it’s pedestrian avoidance system, it nearly drives itself.
